BETHLEHEM, Pa. — Another week, another weekly award for the Lehigh women's basketball team as freshman guard Mackenzie Kramer was named Patriot League Rookie of the Week, voted on by the league's media and SIDs, announced by the league office Tuesday afternoon.
This is the second straight week with a Mountain Hawk winning a weekly award as senior guard Mary Clougherty was named Player of the Week to open the season.
Kramer had a very successful weekend for the brown and white, leading the team to two victories over American at Stabler Arena to improve the team's record to 4-0 to start the new season.
She smashed her career-high in Saturday's victory with a game-high 21 points on four 3-pointers and went a perfect 5-for-5 from the free throw line. She added two assists and two rebounds to her total for the evening.
The Saint Michael, Minn. native left her mark once again on Monday in Lehigh's 89-71 victory over the Eagles with 11 points, contributing three 3-pointers to the team's new program record, league record-tying 16.
For the weekend, Kramer averaged 16 points per game, 43.5 percent from the field and 46.7 percent from beyond-the-arc.
Currently on the season she is averaging 12 points per game in four games and is ranked second in the Patriot League for 3-pointers made per game (2.5), just behind teammate Clougherty (3.3).
Sophomore guard/forward Frannie Hottinger earned an honorable mention nod after averaging 19.5 points per game and 5.5 rebounds in the two wins over AU.
