Minnesota native is program's first-ever three-time recipient of honor

BETHLEHEM, Pa. — End of year awards continue to flow in around the Patriot League, as the league announced Academic All-League selections to the public on Tuesday afternoon. The Lehigh women's basketball team has two members of the Academic All-Patriot League team for the first time in program history, as both seniors Hannah Hedstrom and Camryn Buhr garnered recognition.

Hedstrom, most notably, is named an Academic All-League selection for the third straight season, the first player in program history with that accomplishment. Hedstrom graduated in three years with a bachelor's degree in Biology and a cumulative 3.97 GPA in 2019 and used her fourth year of athletic eligibility to go for her Master's Degree in Healthcare Systems Engineering. She had a GPA of 3.90 in her first semester of graduate school. Hedstrom is a two-time CoSIDA Academic All-District 2 selection and a three-time member of the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll. She was named the program's Scholar Athlete of the Year twice, in 2018 and 2019.

The senior point guard has started all 30 of Lehigh's games this season, averaging 4.3 points, 4.7 rebounds and 3.4 assists per game this season. She is the first player since Lehigh Hall of Famer Sherie Androlewicz '90 to lead the team in assists all four years. Hedstrom is also the second player in program history with 500+ rebounds and 400+ assists for a career. In January, Hedstrom was named one of 30 candidates nationwide for the prestigious Senior CLASS Award.

Buhr is an Academic All-Patriot League selection for the first time in her career and the fifth different player in program history to claim the award. In the classroom, Buhr is a three-time Patriot League Academic Honor Roll recipient, a five-time member of the Dean's List and has a 3.62 cumulative GPA in Management at Lehigh.

She will go down as one of the most accomplished players in program history, named an All-Patriot League selection three times, just the sixth player to win at least three honors. She was a second team honoree this season, a first team selection in 2019 and a third team honoree her sophomore season in 2018. Currently at 1,340 career points, Buhr sits 11th all-time in career scoring, just three points away from passing Sara Ellis to get into the top 10 all-time.

Buhr is the only player in program history with 1,300+ points, 700+ rebounds and 230+ assists. She has played and started in 29 games this season for the Mountain Hawks, scoring in double-figures in 20 of her 29 games this season, scoring more than 20 points on seven occasions, including a 36-point day vs. Army West Point on Feb. 15, setting the single-game program record for points in the Patriot League era.

Hedstrom and Buhr will continue their search for Lehigh's fourth Patriot League crown when they take on Boston U. Thursday evening on the road in the Patriot League semifinals at 6 p.m.
