BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Coming off one of its most thrilling victories of the season, the Lehigh men's basketball team will search for a second straight victory when the Mountain Hawks host Holy Cross on Wednesday evening in Stabler Arena. Opening tipoff is set for 7 p.m. Last time out, Lehigh picked up a gritty 62-59 win at archrival Lafayette, holding the Leopards to their second lowest point total of the season.

The story for the Mountain Hawks on Saturday was their defense. Lehigh allowed just 21 first-half points, the second lowest total for Lafayette in any half this season (and lowest in a Patriot League game). The 59 total points was also the Leopards' lowest in any league contest. Lehigh also received balanced scoring, with all five scorers reaching double-figure points for the first time all season and first time since Feb. 27, 2019 at American. Sophomore Jeameril Wilson had 13 points while senior Jordan Cohen, junior Marques Wilson, sophomore Nic Lynch and freshman Reed Fenton all scored 12. Jeameril added a career-high 15 rebounds, shattering his previous career high of seven, to reach exactly 200 in his career. It was the most rebounds for any Mountain Hawk since Pat Andree last February against Boston University. Saturday marked Wilson's first-career double-double.

The win was Lehigh's sixth straight at Lafayette. Cohen finished his career 4-0 at Lafayette in the regular season, joining Kahron Ross and Kyle Leufroy as the only players in program history to accomplish that feat. The Mountain Hawks picked up their second win this season over a team currently in the top four of the Patriot League standings (also American). Freshman Evan Taylor proved a spark off the bench after missing four games due to injury. Taylor scored a point, grabbed four rebounds and had a huge block in the final five minutes of regulation.

The Mountain Hawks found a way to win despite knocking down just 19 field goals (in 56 attempts) and only five 3-pointers (in 19 chances). Fenton did connect on 5-of-7 while Lynch finished 5-of-9. Lehigh got to the foul line 25 times, making 19 (76.0 percent). The Mountain Hawks also limited their turnovers, with just 12 for the game.

Lehigh will look to avenge a tough overtime loss at Holy Cross last month. The Mountain Hawks are currently ninth in the league standings, but just two games out of seventh and three behind fifth.

Holy Cross enters Wednesday 3-22, including 2-10 in Patriot League play. After the Crusaders beat the Mountain Hawks on Jan. 22, they have lost five in a row, including single-digit losses against the top two teams currently in the standings – Colgate and Boston University. Freshman Joe Pridgen leads the offense, averaging 16.4 points and 6.9 rebounds while Austin Butler comes in at 11.8 and Connor Niego is averaging 9.0. Pridgen leads the Crusaders in rebounding (6.9) while Butler comes in at 6.4. Holy Cross is eighth in the league in scoring offense (67.4) and 10th in scoring defense (79.8).

Holy Cross has won two straight against the Mountain Hawks, most recently winning 96-95 in overtime last month. The last time the teams played in Stabler Arena, the Crusaders won another close one, 73-71, in a game that came down to the final shot (in which Lance Tejada's 3-pointer to win the game was just a little off).  Overall, Lehigh has still won six of the last 10 vs. the Crusaders. Each of the last five meetings have been decided by six points or less (with the Mountain Hawks winning three). Lehigh and Holy Cross first met in 1976, an 84-60 Holy Cross victory, before reconvening for Patriot League play in the early 1990s.

Following Wednesday's contest, Lehigh hits the road for two straight games, traveling to Army West Point on Saturday (1 p.m.) and Colgate next Wednesday (7 p.m.).
