BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Lehigh men's basketball team looks to ride the momentum from its first Patriot League victory when it travels to Boston University on Wednesday to face the Terriers. Opening tipoff is set for 7 p.m. on the Patriot League Network. The Mountain Hawks are coming off an exciting 78-71 win over Loyola in just their second home game since mid November.

Against the Greyhounds, Lehigh came back from several deficits - trailing by 12 in the first half and nine with less than seven minutes remaining. The Mountain Hawks began the first half on a 14-4 run, ended the half on a 16-5 run and ended the game on a 23-7 run. Freshman Reed Fenton was a catalyst, scoring a career-high 19 points on 7-of-11 shooting, including 3-of-4 from 3-point range. He knocked down a game-tying trey with 3:58 on the clock and later added a clutch jumper in the final minute for a six-point advantage.

Three other Mountain Hawks reached double-figure points. Junior James Karnik scored 18 points (to tie a season high) and grabbed seven rebounds while classmate Marques Wilson scored a season-high 16 points on 5-of-10 shooting and 3-of-7 from 3-point range. Senior Jordan Cohen had 14 points and six assists to reach exactly 300 assists in his career. Sophomore Jeameril Wilson scored seven points and dished a career-high tying four assists. Freshman Evan Taylor didn't score, but set a career high with four assists. Sophomore Nic Lynch made his season debut and scored four points, including a short jumper as the first half expired to even the score after 20 minutes of play.

A big key for the Mountain Hawks was just 11 turnovers, their second lowest total all season. Lehigh's freshmen combined for zero turnovers on the afternoon. Lehigh also continued its active defense, tallying eight steals (led by three from Cohen) and holding the Greyhounds to 71 points, which was below their scoring average entering the game. The Mountain Hawks contained the Patriot League's leading scorer, holding Andrew Kostecka to 15 points, who was averaging 23.4 and coming off a career-high 37-point effort three days prior.

The win snapped Lehigh's eight-game losing streak, but most importantly, evened its Patriot League record. Seven of the Mountain Hawks' eight losses in that streak came on the road. On Wednesday, Lehigh will be vying to snap an eight-game road losing streak, but at a place the Mountain Hawks won last February. Following Wednesday's contest, Lehigh returns home for two straight games (for the first time all season), hosting American Saturday night (Jan. 11) and Navy next Wednesday evening (Jan. 15).

Boston University stands 7-8 on the season, 1-1 in Patriot League play. The Terriers most recently dropped a 67-63 final at American. This came after four straight victories, including a comeback win in their league opener over Lafayette. All-league forward Max Mahoney leads the Terriers in scoring (15.1) and rebounding (7.3) while Walter Whyte is right behind averaging 12.8 points and 6.1 boards, respectively. Javante McCoy (9.7 points per game), Alex Vilarino (8.4) and Jonas Harper (7.1) round out BU's starting lineup.  The Terriers lead the league in fewest turnovers per game (12.1).

Last season, Lehigh swept the season series vs. Boston University for the first time since the Terriers joined the Patriot League for the 2013-14 campaign. The Mountain Hawks won at home by a 94-78 final before holding on to a big win in Boston, 84-79 for their first-ever regular-season win at Case Gymnasium to pull Lehigh within 8-7 in the all-time series. Prior to last February, the teams alternated the previous six meetings. Lehigh's only other win at Case Gym was in the 2017 Patriot League Semifinals. The Mountain Hawks also won at Boston University's Agganis Arena in 2014. Boston U. won the first-ever meeting between the two sides in 1968-69 by an 81-56 final. It marked the only meeting between the two schools before the Patriot League era.

Following Wednesday's game, Lehigh returns home on Saturday night to host American at 7 p.m.
