BETHLEHEM, Pa. — The Lehigh baseball team had success on the diamond in so many ways during the 2019 season, but it was in the classroom that the team thrived where 18 student athletes were named to the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll, announced by the league on Monday afternoon.
Lehigh finished with the third-most student athletes in the Patriot League on the list, as Bucknell and Lafayette led the way with 20.
Of the 18 Mountain Hawks on the honor roll, three players — Ethan Frohman, Ryan Malloy and Mike Maguire — finished the year with perfect 4.0 GPAs.
Both Frohman and Malloy, along with Jeff Shanfeldt finish their senior seasons with honor roll selections. All three players were also named to Academic All-Patriot League teams at the conclusion of the campaign.
All seven members of Baseball's junior class made the honor roll as Tim DiLoreto had a 3.65 GPA in Mechanical Engineering, Tony Gallo finished the semester with a 3.51 in Earth and Environmental Science, Matt Hand had a 3.52 in Accounting, Jake Kochmansky had a 3.72 in Mathematics, Mike Maguire's 4.0 GPA came while studying Accounting, Jason Reynolds had a 3.34 in Mechanical Engineering and Levi Stoudt finished with a 3.35 in Economics.
Frohman, Malloy, Shanfeldt and Thomas Schumacher conclude their careers as four-time members of the honor roll.
Kochmansky, Maguire and Hand enter their senior seasons as three-time members of the honor roll list.
