BETHLEHEM, Pa. — The Lehigh women's track and field team is preparing to compete in the Patriot League Championships this weekend, hosted by Holy Cross in Worcester, Mass. The two-day event begins Friday morning at 9:45 a.m. with the 10,000m and concludes on Saturday at 5:25 p.m. with the 4x400m relay.

Sophomore Susie Poore is kicking off the events for Lehigh as the lone Mountain Hawk running the 10,000m on Friday morning.

In the multis, senior Tyler Bannister and freshman Carly Carpino are competing in the heptathlon. Multi events on Friday are the 100m hurdles, high jump, shot put and 200m. Saturday's heptathlon action continues with the long jump, javelin and 800m.

Lehigh's 4x800m relay team is looking to follow its Patriot League title from the indoor season with success in the outdoor season. The team of senior Clare Severe, junior Sophie Antonioli, junior Mary Casey and freshman Jade Sessions will race Friday afternoon at 4:20 p.m.

In the throws, sophomore Brittany Curtin will aim to take home her third consecutive title. As a freshman, Curtin won the discus event at outdoor Patriots, and also took home the top honors at the 2019 indoor championships in the weight throw. Curtin is competing in the discus, hammer throw and shot put.

Jordan Otto is also looking to make a repeat podium appearance, as the junior won the high jump at both the 2018 outdoor and 2019 indoor Patriot League Championship meets. In February, Otto matched her personal-record 1.70m mark in the high jump.

Closing out the meet for Lehigh is the 4x400m relay team, which is competing at 5:25 p.m. Saturday. Lehigh's season-high time in the 4x400m relay is 3:53.97, earned at the prestigious Penn Relays last weekend. That time is .91 seconds away from tying the school record, set in 2014.

At February's indoor championships, Lehigh finished fifth overall with seven podium finishes over the course of the two-day competition. Three Mountain Hawks won individual titles — Otto won the championship title in the high jump with a 1.70m mark, Curtin won the weight throw title with a personal record throw of 18.29m, and the 4x800m relay earned a meet, facility and school record with an 8:48.80 finish.

At last year's Patriot League Outdoor Championships at Lafayette, four Mountain Hawks took home individual titles in Lehigh's third place effort. Curtin, Otto, junior Ashleigh Crawford and senior Kaitlyn Toman each earned individual titles at last year's championship meet. Toman's pole vault performance of 3.96 meters broke the Patriot League pole vault record set in 2006.

Three athletes earned Second Team All-Patriot League honors for their performances in last year's championship meet. Stacie Nadel, Brooke Schaeffer and Maddy Harding were all named to the second team.

Following this weekend's championship, Lehigh will compete in the West Point Twilight meet on Thursday, hosted by Army in West Point, N.Y. Qualifying athletes will compete in the ECAC/IC4A championships in Princeton, N.J. on Saturday and Sunday.
