BETHLEHEM, Pa. — For the second time this season, senior outfielder Ryan Malloy was named Patriot League Player of the Week, announced by the league on Tuesday.
Malloy continued his hot stretch of games from the last time he won the award by hitting .538 (7-for-13) with two home runs, two doubles, four runs scored and nine RBIs in three games this past weekend with Maryland Eastern Shore and Monmouth. He also had a slugging percentage of 1.154 and an on-base percentage of .538. In addition, the senior also upped his hitting streak to seven straight games dating back to Feb. 16 at Duke.
On the year, Malloy is leading the Mountain Hawks by a considerable margin with a .455 (15-for-33) batting average, which is also good for second best in the Patriot League behind Bucknell's John Paul Bell (.459). He has a total of 15 hits, three home runs, three doubles and a triple to go along with 14 total RBIs on the year.
Malloy is also third among all NCAA players in RBIs per game (1.75) and 23rd in batting average.
Junior right-hander Levi Stoudt was also named an honorable mention after his 10 strikeout, one-hit performance in six innings of work in a 13-1 victory over Maryland Eastern Shore last Friday.
Malloy's nod is his second of the season and the Mountain Hawks' third weekly award of the year so far.
