BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Just hours after picking up a hard-fought 11-8 win over No. 16/17 Army West Point Saturday, a pair of Lehigh men's lacrosse senior defensemen were selected in the Major League Lacrosse Draft, held Saturday evening in Charlotte, North Carolina. Craig Chick was picked in the second round (17th overall) by the Dallas Rattlers while Eddie Bouhall went in the sixth round (49th overall) to the Atlanta Blaze. Both are multiple-time All-Patriot League honorees while Chick is a two-time All-American, and they currently stand No. 1 and 3 in school history for career caused turnovers.

"We are all proud of Craig and Eddie for getting selected in the Major League Lacrosse draft," said Lehigh head coach Kevin Cassese, a former MLL veteran himself and MVP of the 2006 All-Star Game. "They will both be great pros and I am excited to watch their careers continue at the next level this summer. I also think we have several other seniors who will have the opportunity to make a pro roster, and I look forward to seeing how that develops for the class of 2019."

Chick and Bouhall are the first Mountain Hawks selected in the MLL Collegiate Draft since Matt Poillon, Dan Taylor and Lukas Mikelinich all went in 2015. Since that point, multiple Lehigh players have been picked in the Supplemental Draft. Chick and Bouhall become the eighth and ninth Mountain Hawks in school history selected in the Collegiate Draft.

With his four caused turnovers against the Black Knights Saturday, Chick increased his career total to 131, good for third in NCAA history and just 27 behind the all-time record holder of 158 held by Detroit's Jordan Houtby. So far this year, Chick owns 25 groundballs and 13 caused turnovers, earning Patriot League Defensive Player of the Week after nine groundballs and five caused turnovers in the season opener. Chick was named a first team preseason All-American by Inside Lacrosse after garnering second team All-America by the publication following last season. He was named an honorable mention All-American by Inside Lacrosse as a sophomore, and earned USILA honorable mention All-America as a junior. Chick led the nation in caused turnovers as a freshman (37), broke the school record as a sophomore (40) and broke his own mark as a junior (41). He currently owns 192 career groundballs, good for top 10 nationally among active players. Chick was recently named to the Tewaaraton Award Watch List, presented to the top player in college lacrosse.

Bouhall has enjoyed a decorated career as well, earning second team All-League after his sophomore and junior seasons. A preseason All-Patriot League honoree this year, Bouhall has tallied 19 groundballs and 11 caused turnovers so far in 2019 to up his career totals to 137 and 73, respectively. Bouhall has put forth some impressive performances in his career, garnering Patriot League Defensive Player of the Week once as a sophomore while posting a career-high four caused turnovers on four different occasions – most recently last February against Navy, a game which also saw him tie a career high for groundballs (6). Bouhall is one of Lehigh's top cover defensemen, most recently shutting down Army's Brendan Nichtern, who entered Saturday's contest with 24 points in five games (12 goals, 12 assists), but had just a goal and assist – with the assist coming in transition when Bouhall wasn't covering him.

Chick, Bouhall and the Mountain Hawks have a quick turnaround as they travel to No. 20 Rutgers on Tuesday. Opening faceoff is set for 7 p.m. televised nationally on the Big Ten Network.
