LEWISBURG, Pa. — It may have been a little more quiet of a night than usual for the Lehigh men's swimming and diving team, but that didn't mean there weren't small successes for the team heading into the final day of competition at Kinney Natatorium at Bucknell.
There were a total of 13 Mountain Hawk men that competed in final events on Friday night, with six competitors making it to A-Final events. Junior Walker Wilson didn't get a school record on Friday night, but he did swim away with a seventh-place finish in the 200-yard freestyle and finished in sixth place along with fellow teammates Greg Giannella, Joey Rogers and Max Goldenberg in the 200-yard freestyle relay with a time of 1:21.37.
In the 100-yard backstroke, Owen Thomas and Joey Huber came in seventh and eighth place, respectively. Thomas swam a 50.44 while Huber swam to a time of 50.88. Also earning top 10 finishes on Friday night among the male athletes were Tyler Keller (6th, 285.60) and Addison Cochran (8th, 228.00) in the three-meter dive.
Teddy Smith got an 11th place finish in the 100 butterfly with his time of 49.34, while Matt Feryo finished 12th in the 100 back with a time of 50.61 and Goldenberg was 14th with a time of 50.98.
After three days of competition, the Mountain Hawks currently sit in fourth place with 246 points. They trail Bucknell (290), Army West Point (538) and Navy (756).
