PISCATAWAY, N.J. – The Lehigh women's swimming and diving team wrapped up its only December competition. Over the last three days, the Mountain Hawks have given it their all at the Rutgers Invitational, competing against five other teams.

"This team gave it their all over the past three days. They really fought hard and showed have the determination needed to become the best," said head coach Rob Herb. "This was a great preview for the Patriot League Championships and I know the Rutgers Invitational was the best way to prepare for that."

On Saturday, the Brown and White showed their strength in depth, multiple swimmers put up times that were impressive for Herb. In the 200 breast, Samantha Gallego won the B Final with a time of 2:21.28.

Up next, the Mountain Hawks will focus on their final exams, while then enjoying the holidays with their families. However, Lehigh will return to the water for a big-time showdown with Army West Point on January 10.

DAY TWO

On the second day of competition, the Lehigh women's swimming and diving team saw fast times from a bunch of swimmers on Friday. In the past two days, coach Rob Herb has seen plenty to be proud of.

In the 200 freestyle, Megan Judge swam a fast race, finishing second with a time of 1:49.53. In the 400 IM, Sarah Hardy was the first Lehigh finisher to finish at 4:25.47, good enough for third. Both Judge and Hardy are first-year swimmers.

In the 100 butterfly, Hardy finished seventh with a time of 56.94, followed by teammate Malia Wolf, who finished six-tenths of a second behind her teammate.

In the 100 breaststroke, Anna Thomas was the fastest Lehigh swimmer in the B final, finishing with a time of 1:05.93. Then in the 100 backstroke, Anna Francisco finished fourth with a time of 55.87.

The Mountain Hawks did not have any diver compete in the 1 or 3-meter dives.

Saturday will mark the conclusion of the Rutgers Invitational. However, there are still many events that need to happen. Lehigh will no doubt look to finish on a strong note.

DAY ONE

On the second day of competition at the Rutgers Invitational, the Lehigh women's swimming and diving team joined the party. Competing against five other solid teams, today marked the start of the toughest meet so far for the Mountain Hawks.
