Lehigh ends regular season at 6-2, best record since 2015-16
LEWISBURG, Pa. — The result wasn't the one they were looking for on Saturday afternoon at Kinney Natatorium, but the Lehigh women's swimming and diving program in still in good shape heading into the Patriot League Championships Feb. 20-23. The Mountain Hawks rattled off three straight victories in the final three events to pick up 29 points, but the Bison got the win, 161-137. The loss snaps Lehigh's seven meet winning streak dating back to Oct. 6.

Ann Foley got the Mountain Hawks' first win of the afternoon in the 200 free, with a 1:50.60. Teammate Courtney Ferriera finished in third place with a time of 1:54.21.

Annie Norris found victory in the 200 fly with her winning time of 2:06.49 to pick up nine points and get some momentum back from Bucknell. Payton Miles followed that up with a win in the 50 free, a 23.54 that beat out Foley by .04 seconds once again. Foley got the better of Miles in the 100 free with her first place time of 51.27, while Miles swam to a time of 51.83.

Liz Olszewski finished in first place in the 200 breast event with a time of 2:24.31. Ferreira got the win in the 200 IM with a time of 2:07.03, beating out Bucknell's Julie Byrne (2:08.14). Previous to that event, Byrne had already achieved three first place finishes.

On the diving board, Lehigh was without Megan Fennell, who missed the meet due to illness, so senior Rayna Smilowitz did her part and got the Mountain Hawks a giant nine points in the three-meter with her score of 264.23. She also finished in third place in the one-meter with a score of 214.58.

The win for the Bison improves their record to 8-1, while the Mountain Hawks fall to 7-2, finishing the regular season with the program's best record since the 2015-16 season.
