PATRIOT LEAGUE RELEASE
BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Lehigh sophomore Levi Stoudt was tabbed the Patriot League Pitcher of the week as the league announced its weekly baseball awards Monday afternoon.
Â
The Lehigh ace played a key role helping Lehigh win a big three-game series at Davidson over the weekend. Stoudt earned his first win of the season in a 4-1 Lehigh victory in game one of the series, which ended a five-game win streak by the defending Atlantic 10 and NCAA Regional Champions.
Â
Stoudt tossed 6.1 innings, scattering five hits and one unearned run, while striking out three in his appearance. The sophomore held a Wildcats' lineup that had been averaging 12 hits and nearly 12 runs per game to just five hits and only one run during his outing.
Â
As a staff, the Mountain Hawks held the A-10's home run leaders homerless on the weekend and held the conference's leading sluggers to .088 points below their season slugging average of .453. Davidson had been averaging three homers per game leading up to the series.
Â
Chris Kersey earned an Honorable Mention by the Patriot League for his offensive prowess over the weekend. The Lehigh lead-off man paced the team in batting average (.545), slugging percentage (.636), on-base percentage (.615), runs (4), hits (6) and total bases (7) for the week. He also posted a 1.000 fielding percentage while starting all three games at second base.
Â
This is Stoudt's second-career Pitcher of the Week award and his fourth weekly overall as he was twice tabbed the Rookie of the Week last season.
