PATRIOT LEAGUE RELEASE
BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Lehigh men's soccer program continued its run of success in the classroom as 12 Mountain Hawks earned a spot on the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll as announced by the league Wednesday. The men's' soccer program has now placed 10 or more student-athletes on the honor roll in seven of the last eight seasons.
Â
To earn a spot on the honor roll, a student-athlete must earn a 3.20 grade-point average in the semester of their sport's competition.
Â
The 12 Mountain Hawks selected to the Honor Roll combined for a grade-point average of 3.58 in the fall semester and six of those student-athletes also qualified for the Lehigh Dean's List (min 3.60 GPA). A total 139 men's soccer student-athletes from around the Patriot League made it on the Honor Roll. Colgate led the league with 23 total honorees, followed by Boston U with 21, followed by Bucknell and Lafayette each with 16 honorees.
Â
Junior defender and team co-captain Matt Morana paced the Mountain Hawks with a 3.83 GPA in the fall semester. The finance major from Shrewsbury, Mass. was one of just 32 student-athletes across the Patriot League with a 3.80 or better GPA last fall. Morana is now a two-time member of the PL Honor Roll.
Â
Senior forward Doyle Tuvesson not only capped off his career with his best season on the field, but also matched his performance in the classroom with a stellar 3.72 GPA. The mechanical engineering major ended his career as a three-time Honor Roll selection.
Â
Junior Paul Steingraber (3.61), sophomores Ian Marshall (3.69) and Zarin Tuten (3.65), and freshman Jonathan Blaine (3.60) all earned Dean's List honors in addition to earning a spot on the Patriot League Honor Roll.
