WEST POINT, N.Y. – The Lehigh women's swimming and diving team opened 2018 with a big Patriot League victory at Army West Point Tuesday night. The Mountain Hawks won seven events, including six individual events and one relay event, to capture a 153-147 over the Black Knights.

Lehigh's win ended a six-year losing streak to Army as the Mountain Hawks are now 7-17 all-time against the Black Knights.

Ann Foley captured Lehigh's first win of the night with the top time of 1:53.73 in the 200 freestyle. In addition to Foley's top spot, the Mountain Hawks picked up big points by taking the top-five spots in the event.

Sydney Bornstein captured her sixth-straight victory of the season in the 200 butterfly with her winning time of 2:03.99. Lehigh swept the top-three spots as Malia Wolf placed second and Kate Bergin came in third.

Payton Miles secured her fourth victory this season in the 50 free as she paced the field with a time of 23.68. The Mountain Hawks went one-two as Foley placed second with a time of 23.69.

Foley racked up her second victory of the night and her third of the season in the 100 free with her winning time of 51.85. Miles scored key points for LU as she placed second with a time of 51.92.

Audra Smires captured her second-straight victory in the 100 butterfly as she paced the field with a time of 57.23. Wolf picked up crucial points as she placed second with a time of 58.01.

Courtney Ferreira posted her top time this season and racked up her fourth victory of the season in the 200 IM with a winning time of 2:08.61. Anna Thomas placed second with a time of 2:08.95.

Lehigh closed out the night with by claiming the top two spots in the 400 freestyle relay. Foley, Smires, Evie Gieseman and Miles combined for a new season-best and winning time of 3:30.38. Julianne Koch, Meghan Thompson, Olivia Giampietro and Ferreira combined to place second with a time of 3:32.97.

The Mountain Hawks will be back in action Saturday, January 20 when they return home to face Patriot League rival Bucknell at 1 p.m.
