BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The Lehigh men's basketball team will look to bounce back from consecutive defeats when it returns home on Wednesday to host Loyola. Opening tipoff in Stabler Arena is set for 7 p.m. Last week, the Mountain Hawks fell behind by 28 points vs. Colgate then 24 at Army, but came back to within two then seven, pulling right back into both contests down the stretch. Wednesday marks the first of two straight home games for the Mountain Hawks. Both Wednesday against Loyola and Saturday vs. Navy are part of Coaches vs. Cancer Suits and Sneakers Week. On Saturday, Lehigh Athletics will recognize and celebrate the life and legacy of former men's basketball student-athlete and 1,000 point scorer Jared Hess '00, who succumbed to leukemia (blood cancer) 10 years ago on Jan. 25, 2018.

Tickets for Wednesday's game are FREE with a Lehigh ID and as low as $5 for the general public. Lehigh students can take the Campus Connector bus to the game, with buses set to leave at 6:30 p.m. from Packer Ave. and 6:34 from Alpha Phi. Buses will continually run back from the Goodman Campus at 8:33, 8:53, 9:13, 9:33, etc. For the complete campus connector bus schedule, please click here.

Fans on both Wednesday and Saturday are encouraged to join the coaches, who will be wearing sneakers with their suits to promote healthy living. Last time out, Army West Point used an early 11-0 run to take an 18-5 lead. The margin eventually reached 24 at 39-15 before the Mountain Hawks pulled within 50-31 at the half. Lehigh began the second half on a 13-4 run, sparked by freshman Marquis Wilson, who scored seven points in that stretch (including a four-point play) and assisted on the other six points. He finished the game with 20 points to shatter his previous career high, along with a career-high seven rebounds and career-high tying three assists. Wilson tallied 18 of his points in the second half, with all 20 over the game's final 21:47.

While Wilson was the story in the second half, junior Lance Tejada carried the offense in the first. Tejada scored 14 over the first 20 minutes, finishing with 25 points - his third game this season with 25+ points and sixth with more than 20. Those marks are most by a Lehigh guard since current Portland Trail Blazer C.J. McCollum scored 25+ six times in 12 games in his injury-shortened 2012-13 season. McCollum eclipsed 20 points eight times that year.

Meanwhile, Wilson and Tejada became the first duo to eclipse 20 in the same game since Nov. 17 when Tejada had 26 and junior Kyle Leufroy scored 23 in a 91-90 overtime win over Siena. Wilson and Tejada combined to shoot 10-of-15 from three-point range (4-of-6 and 6-of-9, respectively). Tejada's six makes tied a career high, marking the fourth time this season he's had five or more made threes and eighth time he's had at least four. Tejada has connected on 58-of-120 three-pointers this season (48.3 percent), the percentage good for first in the Patriot League and eighth in the nation.

Freshman Caleb Bennett added nine points in just 11 minutes while senior Kahron Ross recorded nine points and six assists without a turnover. Sophomore Pat Andree added eight points, six boards, an assist and steal. The loss snapped the Mountain Hawks' four-game winning streak against Army.

Lehigh will look to snap a mini two-game losing streak vs. Loyola. Wednesday could prove significant in the standings as the two teams are currently tied for sixth in the standings with identical 3-5 marks. Wednesday officially ends the first round of Patriot League play. Lehigh will then play Navy for the second time on Saturday.

Loyola enters Wednesday with a 5-14 record, including a 3-5 mark in the Patriot League. The Greyhounds won two of their first three league games, beating preseason No. 3 Navy and No. 2 Boston University at home, but have lost four of their last five since. Most recently, Loyola dropped a 77-72 final at Colgate. Andre Walker leads Loyola in scoring and is fourth in the league, averaging 16.5 points per game, while Chuck Champion averages 13.2, Cam Gregory 12.8, Isaiah Hart 10.9 and Andrew Kostecka 10.1. Gregory leads Loyola in rebounding (8.8) while Hart owns a team-leading 58 assists. The Greyhounds are 5-3 at home this season, but 0-11 on the road.

Loyola won a pair of nail-biters last season, 84-83 and 62-60, to take a 9-8 lead in the all-time series. The Mountain Hawks led for 39:14 in the first meeting and 26:34 in the second, but the Greyhounds came back in both contests for victories. Prior to last year, the sides alternated wins since Loyola joined the Patriot League for the 2013-14 season. Prior to meeting as league opponents, the teams previously played on Nov. 26, 1988, an 86-72 Lehigh victory. The sides first met in 1912-13, a 41-19 Lehigh victory. Loyola's first win was in 1915-16 by a 35-15 final.

Following Wednesday's game, Lehigh remains home Saturday to host Navy at 7 p.m. as part of Coaches vs. Cancer Suits and Sneakers Week. Tickets for Saturday's game are available online at LehighTickets.com or by clicking here.
