The Rivalry Renews with Track and Field Dual Meet on Saturday vs. Lafayette

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Lehigh-Lafayette rivalry returns to Rauch Fieldhouse Saturday afternoon with the school's annual indoor dual meet. The meet is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m. with the pole vault and the track events starting at 3:30 with the mile. Saturday's clash will be the 45th all-time indoor dual between the men's programs with Lehigh holding a 24-20 record, including wins in each of the last four years and six of the last seven. Lehigh has scored four of the five highest point totals in the rivalry's history during their current four meet win streak in 2014 (111.5), 2015 (120), 2016 (104) and 2017 (107).
On the women's side, Lehigh holds a 12-17-1 record all-time against the Leopards on the indoor track, but have won nine in a row dating back to 2009. The Mountain Hawks have posted the two highest scores in the history of the dual meet in each of the last two years, winning 115-66 in 2016 and 114-66 last year.
Saturday's meet will be the fourth of five home meets for the Mountain Hawks this season. Lehigh athletes have won four weekly awards from the Patriot League this season with Anastasios Mouzakis and Brittany Curtin winning Rookie of the Week, plus Amanda Youngblood and Kaitlyn Toman both collecting Field Athlete of the Week honors. Nationally, Jeffrey Kirshenbaum has the 24th fastest 5,000m men's time in the nation this season, and on the women's side Kaitlyn Toman and Madisyn Hawkins have both taken turns resetting the school's pole vault record.
