BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The Lehigh men's basketball team will look to bounce back from a tough game at Holy Cross Sunday when it returns home to host Navy on Wednesday in a big matchup featuring two teams battling for home court advantage in the Patriot League Tournament. Opening tipoff is set for 7 p.m. and the game is presented by Yianni's Taverna. The Midshipmen currently stand in a tie for second place (15-11 overall, 10-4 in league play) while Lehigh (14-11, 8-6) is in sole possession of fourth place in the Patriot League standings. Lehigh will not leave the Lehigh Valley for the remainder of the regular season; the Mountain Hawks have three home games and a road showdown at Lafayette remaining.

Tickets for Wednesday's game are free with a Lehigh ID and as low as $5 for the general public. Lehigh students can take the Campus Connector bus to the game, with buses set to leave at 6:30 p.m. from Packer Ave. and 6:34 from Pi Beta Phi. Buses will continually run back from the Goodman Campus at 8:33, 8:53, 9:13, 9:33, etc. For the complete campus connector bus schedule, please click here.

On Wednesday, Lehigh will compete in the Game Day Recycling Challenge, a nationwide competition between universities to reduce waste at football games. The challenge is to educate fans about waste reduction, and weigh all trash and recycling from one game. Lehigh will implement its waste production program and will track and report waste reduction and disposal data.

Lehigh struggled to get much going offensively at Holy Cross Sunday, finishing with a season-low 45 points. Despite shooting just 30.4 percent from the field in the first half, the Mountain Hawks hung tough and trailed by just three at the half (26-23). Lehigh scored first in the second, but the Crusaders responded with an 11-0 run to create separation. The Mountain Hawks couldn't pull any closer than eight the rest of the way, as Holy Cross continued to answer. In the end, Lehigh's 45 points was by far a season low as the Mountain Hawks shot a season-low 29.2 percent from the field, hitting just 14-of-48 from the field.

Sophomore Kyle Leufroy led the offense with 12 points behind 4-of-8 shooting while senior Tim Kempton had 10 points and 10 boards for his third straight double-double. Kempton also became Lehigh's all-time leading rebounder on Sunday, eclipsing Daren Queenan's previous school mark of 1,013 boards; Kempton currently owns 1,015. Junior Kahron Ross also dished three assists to reach 500 for his career, becoming just the third player in school history and seventh in Patriot League history to reach that plateau.

The Mountain Hawks' defense held strong in stretches, allowing the team to remain within striking distance into the second half. Lehigh remains in fourth place in the league standings, one game ahead of Colgate and Loyola in fifth. To have any chance of catching Navy in the standings, the Mountain Hawks need to beat the Midshipmen on Wednesday. In the last meeting between the two sides, Navy came back from a 10-point second-half deficit to hand the Mountain Hawks a tough defeat. Lehigh outscored the Midshipmen 32-11 over the middle stages of the game, but the Mountain Hawks couldn't overcome Navy's strong start and end to the game.

With four regular season games remaining, Lehigh is hoping to clinch at least a Patriot League Quarterfinal home game for what would be the seventh time in the last eight years.

The Midshipmen have been red hot, winning 10 of their last 11 games to enter Wednesday's game with a 15-11 record and 10-4 mark in Patriot League play. Navy had an eight-game winning streak snapped with a 55-52 loss at Colgate, but has responded with two straight home wins, over Loyola and Lafayette. Shawn Anderson leads the team in scoring, averaging 12.1 points per game, while four others average 7.8 or more: Bryce Dulin (9.5), Hasan Abdullah (8.7), George Kiernan (8.7) and Tom Lacey (7.8). Lacey leads the team in rebounds (7.9 per game) while Abdullah owns a team-leading 83 assists in 26 games. Navy is shooting 44.2 percent on the season while allowing opponents to shoot 44.7 percent, but in league play, those numbers are 45.2 and 41.2, respectively.

Despite the January loss at Navy, Lehigh has still won 13 of its last 15 games against Navy, with the only other loss coming at home last season by a 69-64 final. The Mountain Hawks responded with a 77-74 win at Navy before topping the Midshipmen in a thriller in the Patriot League Quarterfinals, 65-63, the last meeting between the two sides in Stabler Arena. Navy currently leads the all-time series, 45-30. The teams first met in 1910-11, a 31-24 Navy victory. Lehigh's first win was in 1925-26 by a 25-23 final.

Following Wednesday's game, the Mountain Hawks head to archrival Lafayette on Sunday for their final  road game of the regular season. Opening tipoff is set for 12 p.m.
