Lehigh Set to Host Fast Times Meet Friday and Saturday

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – For the second time in as many weeks, the Lehigh track and field programs will host a meet a Rauch Fieldhouse. The annual Fast Times Before Finals Meet beginning this Friday afternoon and will conclude on Saturday.
For the first time this season, the multis will compete as the men's heptathlon and women's pentathlon get underway at 5 p.m. on Friday, along with the women's pole vault. All other events will take place on Saturday, with the heptathlon continuing at 9am, field events getting underway at 10am and track events beginning at 12 p.m. The meet will be the Mountain Hawks final competition before a one-month break for final exams and the holidays.
At last week's Lehigh Season Opener, LU took the top spot in both the men's and women's 800 meter runs courtesy of Kyle Kirk's first career victory on the men's side, and Brooke Schaeffer breaking the tape on the women's side. Schaeffer was joined in the top five by Kristen Lavallee, Hanna Brosky, and Sophie Antonioli as Lehigh took four of the top five spots. Later, Schaeffer also ran the anchor leg of the women's 4x400 meter relay to help bring in another Lehigh victory, which helped her earn an honorable mention in the Patriot League Athlete of the Week awards. Ryan Givens led the Mountain Hawks in both the men's long jump and high jump, placing ninth with a leap of 6.57m in the long jump and clearing the bar at 2.00 meters in the high jump. In the throws, senior Amanda Youngblood led Lehigh with a fifth place finish in the women's weight throw and sophomore Jordan Otto placed fifth in the high jump.
