BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The Lehigh men's basketball team continues its challenging road stretch on Wednesday when it travels to face defending Ivy League Champion Princeton. Opening tipoff is set for 8 p.m. on NBC Sports Philadelphia+ (formally The Comcast Network). The Mountain Hawks are coming off losses at No. 10 USC and Pitt, but will be vying for their second straight win over the Tigers.

NBC Sports Philadelphia+ can be accessed in the Lehigh Valley on Service Electric Channel 27. To find the channel in your area, please see the channel finder, here. The game will also be streamed online through the Ivy League Network (subscription required).

Most recently, Lehigh hung close at Pitt of the ACC on Saturday, but couldn't get over the hump. The Mountain Hawks led, or were within striking distance, for much of the game, but Pitt shot 60 percent in the second half (15-of-25) which proved too much for Lehigh to overcome. The first half was very defensive with Pitt holding a 32-27 halftime advantage, but the teams exploded for 89 second-half points with the Panthers holding a 48-41 edge.

Lehigh looked to be making a late charge as a 5-0 run pulled it within four at 72-68 with 3:23 remaining, but Pitt ended the game on an 8-0 run for the 80-68 win. Freshman James Karnik was the story for Lehigh, posting 14 points and 10 rebounds for his first-career double-double. Nine of his boards came in the first half while 10 of his points came in the second, finishing 7-of-9 from the field for the game. He became the first Mountain Hawk to record a double-double vs. a power conference foe since Tim Kempton at Syracuse in the 2015-16 season opener. In addition to Karnik, junior Kyle Leufroy had 14 points, six rebounds and four assists on his birthday. Leufroy has played on his birthday each and every year of his career, falling at Virginia, beating Mississippi State then falling at Pitt.

Senior Kahron Ross tallied nine points and six assists, moving ever closer to the Lehigh career assists record. He owns 564, needing just three more to pass Marquis Hall for second place in school history and third place in league history. Next after Hall would be Mackey McKnight, whose 578 career assists are a Lehigh record and good for second in Patriot League history. Wednesday will be Ross' 100th-career game.

Lehigh's offense struggled in the first half Saturday, shooting just 35.5 percent from the field, including 22.2 percent from three-point range (2-of-9), but it bounced back to shoot 50 percent from the field and long distance in the second half. In the end, Lehigh scored in the 60s for a second straight game after its 342 points through four games were its most since the 1991-92 season. The Mountain Hawks continue to take care of the basketball, turning the ball over just 10 times on Saturday, having not turned the ball over 13 times all season (average of just 10.3).

Following Wednesday's game at Princeton, the challenging schedule continues as the Mountain Hawks travel to Virginia to face the Cavaliers for the second time in the last three years.

Coming off an NCAA Tournament appearance last season, Princeton is 2-3 on the season following an 83-76 win at Fairleigh Dickinson on Sunday and 60-46 victory vs. Lafayette last Wednesday. The Tigers began the season with losses at Butler (85-75), against BYU (65-56) and at Saint Joseph's (71-58). Devin Cannady leads the team in scoring, averaging 18.4 points per game while Myles Stephens is averaging 14.4 points and a team-leading 6.2 assists. Amir Bell comes in at 9.4 points per game while Mike LeBlanc is averaging 5.6. Princeton is shooting 47.4 percent from the field, including 40.9 percent from three-point range.

Lehigh's win last season marked just its fifth all-time win over Princeton in 35 meetings, but it was the Mountain Hawks' second in their last three contests. Prior to the Jan. 6, 2008 win (68-49), Princeton had won 23 straight meetings. Lehigh's previous victory was during the 1929-30 season (30-25) with the other Lehigh wins in 1925-26 (33-25) and 1920-21 (24-20). The first-ever meeting between the sides was in 1905-06, a 46-22 Princeton win.

The Mountain Hawks will head to Virginia on Saturday to face the No. 15/18 Cavaliers. Opening tipoff is set for 12 p.m. on ACC Network Extra (WatchESPN).
