
Lehigh Lands Three on Patriot League Weekly Award List

PATRIOT LEAGUE RELEASE
BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Mountain Hawks claimed three of the five Patriot League men's soccer weekly awards as the league announced its award winners Monday afternoon. This is the third week this season Lehigh has had multiple award winners.

Mark Forrest earned Offensive Player of the Week for the third time this season and the second time in as many weeks. The league's point leader led Lehigh with eight points on the week on three goals and two assists.

The junior forward tacked on a key insurance goal in the 44th minute at Drexel which put the Mountain Hawks ahead 2-0 heading into halftime. He then recorded an assist as he set up Doyle Tuvesson for the final goal of the game in the 84th minute. Forrest capped off the week with a five-point performance in a Patriot League win at American on Saturday. He assisted on the opening goal of the game and then tacked on two second-half goals to put the game out of reach.

Forrest leads the league by a wide margin with 33 total points on a league-leading 13 goals with seven assists. He has three multi-goal games this season and five games with a goal and an assist.

Alex Greene was named the Midfielder of the Week for his first Patriot League weekly honor this season and the second of his career. The junior ranked second on the team with six points on the week with two goals and two assists.

Greene tallied the game-winning goal in the win at Drexel for his second game-winner of the season. The midfielder was named Lehigh's Man of the Match in the 4-1 win at American as he played a hand in the first three Lehigh goals. Greene once again scored the opening goal of the game and then recorded the primary assist on the next two goals, including the game-winner.

Finally, Will Smith earned Goalkeeper of the Week for the third time this season and the fourth time in his career. The sophomore keeper posted 12 total saves on the week and allowed just one goal.

Smith was named Lehigh's Man of the Match at Drexel he made seven total saves, including six in the second half, to collect his fourth clean sheet of the season and preserve the Lehigh victory. He made three crucial saves in a three-minute span early in the second half during a pivotal part of the game.

Smith made five more saves at American and had logged 166 scoreless minutes on the week prior to surrendering a goal in the 77th minute. The Lehigh keeper entered the week with a streak of 250 scoreless minutes.

The Mountain Hawks surpassed last season's league win total with their victory over American and still have three league games left to play. Lehigh has the second-most points in league play with 13 on a 4-1-1 record. The Brown and White is at home for two Patriot League games this week, beginning with Bucknell on Wednesday and Loyola on Saturday.
