BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Coming off a big road victory at Colgate which clinched a top two seed in the Patriot League Tournament, the Lehigh men's basketball team closes the regular season on Saturday at Army West Point. Opening tipoff is set for 12 p.m. on CBS Sports Network. The Mountain Hawks are riding an eight-game winning streak, their longest since the 2012-13 season and longest against Patriot League foes since the end of the 2011-12 campaign.

Lehigh is guaranteed no worse than the No. 2 seed in the upcoming Patriot League Tournament and is still alive for the top seed. The Mountain Hawks need to beat Army West Point Saturday and need to have Holy Cross beat Boston University, Colgate beat Lafayette and Navy beat Bucknell. If that happens, the Mountain Hawks would tie the Bison for first place and earn the tiebreaker. The last time Lehigh won the regular season championship was during the 2009-10 season.

Lehigh trailed for just 29 seconds on Wednesday, standing firmly in control for most of the game. Colgate used a late first-half run to pull within nine then got as close as four in the second half, but the Mountain Hawks answered with a 14-0 run to create separation. A 15-0 first-half run helped Lehigh turn a one-point deficit into a 14-point lead. Sophomore Tyler Jenkins played a critical role in both runs, knocking down a three-pointer to end the first-half run while beginning the second-half run with a three.

Jenkins finished the game with career highs in points (8) and rebounds (4), playing an especially critical role in the first half when he played 14 of the 20 minutes due in large part to foul trouble from junior Austin Price. Junior Tim Kempton led the Mountain Hawks in scoring on Wednesday, posting 16 points and 12 rebounds for his fifth double-double in the last six games, his 10th of the season and 30th of his career. Price added 14 points to move within 16 of 1,000 in his career while sophomore Kahron Ross scored 12 points (10 in the first half) and dished seven assists, to just one turnover. The Mountain Hawks knocked down 10-of-20 three-pointers as Price was 3-of-5 while Ross and Jenkins were 2-of-3. Lehigh shot 53.1 percent from the field, the sixth time during Patriot League play that the Mountain Hawks have eclipsed 50 percent.

Lehigh has won 12 Patriot League games this season, most in school history. The previous high was 11 league victories during the Mountain Hawks' 2011-12 championship campaign. The last time Lehigh has won eight straight games against league foes was at the end of that 2011-12 season. The Mountain Hawks ended the regular season with five straight victories while winning all three of their games in the league tournament. Following Saturday's regular season finale, Lehigh will begin Patriot League Tournament action next Thursday, Mar. 3 at 7 p.m. in Stabler Arena. The Mountain Hawks will host a quarterfinal game for the sixth time in the last seven years.

Army West Point is in the midst of an up-and-down season, currently riding a five-game winning streak heading into Saturday's game. The Black Knights were 9-3 in nonleague action and began the Patriot League slate 2-2 and 3-3 before losing starters Tanner Plomb and Kevin Ferguson to injury. Army lost four straight and five-of-six in one stretch, but hasn't lost since an overtime defeat against Loyola on Feb. 6. Plomb leads the team (and league) in scoring with 20.3 per game. He's followed by Kyle Wilson at 16.4 points per game while Ferguson has been stellar, especially as of late. He has recorded seven straight double-doubles to raise his season averages to 13.4 points and 9.8 rebounds, respectively. Dylan Cox leads Army with 133 assists, good for a 4.9 average. The Black Knights' starting lineup features five seniors.

Army West Point's win over Lehigh in the Patriot League opener extended its all-time series lead to 63-39, but the Mountain Hawks have enjoyed success as of late. Lehigh won both meetings last season, including a dominant 103-74 victory last February in Stabler Arena. Even with the loss earlier this season, the Mountain Hawks have still won seven of the last 10 overall with the only two other losses coming during the 2013-14 season. The first meeting between the sides came in 1906-07, a 26-24 Lehigh victory. Army won the next game in 1914-15 by a 19-6 final.

The Mountain Hawks begin the Patriot League Tournament next Thursday when they host a Patriot League Quarterfinal Game in Stabler Arena for the sixth time in the last seven years. Opening tipoff is set for 7 p.m. Tickets are now on sale and can be purchased, here.
