BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Riding three straight wins which included a combined 283 points, the Lehigh men's basketball team is set to open Patriot League play on Friday night when the Mountain Hawks travel to Army West Point. Opening tipoff against the Black Knights is set for 7 p.m. and will air live online through the Patriot League Network. Lehigh will be on the road to open league play for the 15th time in 26 all-time Patriot League openers and will open league play at Army West Point for the first time since Jan. 7, 1995, an 83-78 win.

Lehigh is coming off a 93-72 win at Cabrini on Thursday, Dec. 22 as the Mountain Hawks scored 90 or more points in a third straight game for the first time since Feb. 13, Feb. 20 and Feb. 23 of 1991 when Lehigh won at Colgate (100-81), vs. Lafayette (97-75) and at Bucknell (98-87). The Mountain Hawks used a 17-2 run to take a 56-32 lead, the team's fourth double-digit win this season and third straight of 19 or more points.

One game after tying a school record with 10 made three-pointers, freshman Pat Andree posted his first-career double-double. He finished with 14 points and a career-high 15 rebounds, 10 coming after halftime. Andree was 5-of-10 from the field and 2-of-4 from three-point range as he's now 12-of-16 from long distance over his last two games. Meanwhile, senior Austin Price scored a game-high 18 points, which included 4-of-6 from three-point range. In the process, he moved from 24th to 22nd in school history for career points (currently owning 1,154). Sophomore Kyle Leufroy had 17 points on 7-of-11 shooting, and five rebounds while freshman Jordan Cohen scored 16 points on 5-of-7 from the field and junior Brandon Alston scored 12 points. In the end, five Mountain Hawks reached double-figure points for the third time this season. Junior Kahron Ross dished a game-high 10 assists in just 22 minutes of action, in the process, moving past Mike Polaha and into sole possession of fifth place in school history with 427 career assists.

The Mountain Hawks' third straight victory marked their longest win streak of the young season. Lehigh improved its record to 6-5, the seventh time in the last eight seasons the Mountain Hawks have been over .500 in nonleague action. Lehigh also remained undefeated at home at 4-0, posting its first undefeated home record in the nonleague since the 2013-14 campaign.

On Friday, Lehigh will be returning to the place of its ninth straight win last season as the Mountain Hawks finished an undefeated February with an 82-72 win at Army. This year's Army team is much different, featuring five new players in its starting lineup after the team had five seniors starting last year. The Mountain Hawks are 15-11 all-time in Patriot League openers, but they're looking for their first league-opening victory since 2013-14 at Colgate. Lehigh is just 2-4 over its last six Patriot League openers, four of those coming on the road.

Army West Point has enjoyed success this season, despite featuring a very young lineup. Standing 6-6 overall, the Black Knights' most common starting lineup from this season has featured one senior, three sophomores and a freshman. Jordan Fox leads the team in scoring (12.8 points per game) and assists (4.6 per contest) while Matt Wilson averages 11.4 points off the bench, knocking down 65.5 percent of his field goal attempts. John Emezie is third on the team in scoring (9.5) while Tommy Funk averages 8.6 points and 4.2 assists. As a team, The Black Knights are shooting 45.1 percent from the field, scoring 78.3 points per game. Following consecutive losses at Monmouth and St. Bonaventure, Army picked up a 71-60 win over Binghamton in its nonleague finale.

Lehigh trails Army West Point, 63-40 in the all-time series, which includes a win in eight of the last 11 meetings. Last time they met, the Mountain Hawks earned an 82-72 road victory in the 2015-16 regular season finale. Overall, Lehigh has won three straight in West Point and four of its last five. The first meeting between the two sides came in 1906-07, a 26-24 Lehigh victory. Army won the next matchup in 1914-15 by a 19-6 final.

Lehigh continues Patriot League play on Monday when it plays at Boston University. Opening tipoff is set for 2 p.m. The Mountain Hawks return home next Thursday, Jan. 5 to host Loyola at 7 p.m.
