BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Looking to rebound from a heartbreaking overtime loss at Yale on Thursday night, the Lehigh men's basketball team looks to rebound when it hosts Princeton in its home opener Sunday. Opening tipoff in Stabler Arena is set for 2 p.m. The matchup features the preseason favorites in the Patriot League and Ivy League as both teams enter the season with high aspirations. The Mountain Hawks will play at home for the first time since their run to the Patriot League Championship Game last season.

Sunday's game is Lehigh men's basketball's Camper Appreciation Day. Any youngsters who attended camp over the past few summers can get into Sunday's game for FREE. An email was recently sent to those who attended. Just show a copy of the email at the door on Sunday and the camper gets a free ticket. Tickets for parents, siblings and friends start at just $5.

The Goodman Bus Service will run on Sunday with buses leaving from the Dialogue Center on Taylor Street (between Taylor Gym and Grace Hall) at 1:15 and 1:45 p.m.

Thursday's game at Yale featured a little bit of everything. The Bulldogs led for most of the first half, but the Mountain Hawks used a 9-0 run to erase a nine-point deficit and tie the score. A close game ensued from that point forward as the largest margin in the second half was seven, a 71-64 Mountain Hawks' lead with less than four minutes remaining. However, Yale went on a 7-0 run capped off by a Blake Reynolds three-pointer with less than 90 seconds remaining. A wild finish saw Lehigh whistled for a technical foul with one second remaining for calling timeout with no timeouts remaining, but the Bulldogs missed the free throw to force overtime.

In the extra session, senior Tim Kempton scored five points before fouling out with a career-high 30 points. He became Lehigh's first 30-point scorer since Mackey McKnight had 31 on Nov. 15, 2013. With his 30 points, Kempton moved from 13th to 12th in school history in career points, now with 1,445, passing Chuck Penn. Kempton also grabbed 11 rebounds for his first double-double of the season and 34th of his career. Sophomore Kyle Leufroy also scored 20 points as the duo had the largest combined point total among teammates (50) since the two combined for 53 points in last season's home game vs. Bucknell - Kempton had 29 while Leufroy scored 23.

Freshman Pat Andree had a strong performance at Yale, scoring 11 points on 4-of-7 shooting and 3-of-6 from three-point range. He also grabbed eight rebounds, all in the first half. Sophomore Matt Holba scored all nine of his points in the second half, finishing 3-of-4 from the field. His one miss came from three-point range as he's still a perfect 7-of-7 on two-point shots in his young career. Junior Kahron Ross scored Lehigh's first five points of the evening and finished with nine points to go with five assists. Three Mountain Hawks had four or more assists (Leufroy also tied a career high with five while freshman Jordan Cohen dished four). Lehigh finished the evening with 19 assists on 29 made field goals.

A dunk from senior Austin Price gave the Mountain Hawks an 80-78 lead in overtime, but Yale ended the game on an 11-1 run to pull away at the final horn and win its 15th straight home game dating back to the 2014-15 season. Lehigh will face another Ivy League foe on Sunday in Princeton, the preseason pick to win the league. The Tigers return practically its entire roster from last year's squad which finished 22-7 and advanced to the NIT.

An extremely experienced team, Princeton returns its top nine scorers from last season's squad, which finished 22-7, 12-2 in the Ivy League and a berth in the NIT. Last season, four Tigers averaged double-figure points: Henry Caruso (15.0), Steven Cook (11.7), Devin Cannady (11.6) and Spencer Weisz (10.8). In the season opener at BYU, Cannady scored a team-high 18 points while Cook added 12. Princeton was 10-of-35 from three-point range while being outrebounded by 15. The Tigers fell down by nine at the half, but came back to pull as close as one in the second.

Princeton leads the all-time series, 30-4 which includes wins in 24 of the last 25 meetings with Lehigh's win coming in January of 2008 by a 68-49 final. Prior to that win, Lehigh's previous victory against Princeton came during the 1929-30 season. The teams last played on Jan. 7, 2009, a 73-64 Princeton win. The first-ever meeting was in 1905-06, a 46-22 Princeton victory.

Following Sunday's game, the Mountain Hawks will hit the road on Thanksgiving weekend for a pair of games, at Mississippi State on Friday (8 p.m. ET) and Arkansas State on Sunday (2:30 p.m. ET).
