BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Lehigh wrestling team's December 4 visit to rival and defending national champion Penn State has been selected for national television coverage on the Big Ten Network. To accommodate the national telecast, the start time for the dual has been moved up to noon from its originally scheduled time of 2 p.m.
Over the summer, Penn State announced Lehigh as the opponent for its annual dual in the Bryce Jordan Center, the 16,000-seat arena the Nittany Lions use for an annual signature dual meet against a high-profile opponent.
The December 4 dual will mark Lehigh's first appearance on the Big Ten Network for a dual meet. Previous Lehigh duals against Big Ten foes have streamed online via the Big Ten's digital BTN Plus or BTN2Go streaming services. Mountain Hawk wrestlers have also appeared on the BTN in recent years when competing in the finals of the Ken Kraft Midlands Championships in late December.
The remainder of Lehigh's wrestling broadcast schedule will be announced at a later date.
The Mountain Hawks will officially open preseason practice on Monday with the annual Brown and White Wrestle-offs set for Thursday, October 27 at 7 p.m. Lehigh will open the dual meet season at home against EIWA rival Bucknell on Friday November 11. Tickets for Lehigh home duals can be purchased at LehighTickets.com or by calling 610-7LU-GAME during normal business hours.
