Lehigh to Host Navy in Wednesday Patriot League Clash

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Lehigh men's soccer team will return home on Wednesday night to host Navy in a Patriot League contest featuring two teams in search of their first conference win of the season. Kickoff at the Ulrich Sports Complex is slated for 7 p.m.

The Mountain Hawks enter Wednesday night's tilt with a record of 3-6-1 and a PL record of 0-2-0. LU is on a one-game skid after suffering a 1-0 loss last Saturday night at Colgate. The Raiders put a tally on the board in the third minute and held on for the victory in a closely-contested match. Lehigh has surrendered a goal within the first three minutes in both PL matches this season.
Navy comes to the Ulrich Sports Complex with an overall record of 2-5-2 and a conference record of 0-2-0. The Midshipmen are also on a one-game losing streak after falling 2-1 in overtime at Loyola last Saturday. Navy is winless in its last three games with a 0-0 draw to Duquesne sandwiched between losses to Army West Point and Loyola.
The Mountain Hawks are led offensively by sophomore forward Mark Forrest who ranks fourth in the Patriot League in both points (11) and goals (4). Freshman goalkeeper Will Smith has drawn the last two starts for LU. He is 1-1 in those games with a 0.50 goals-against average and a .875 save percentage in 180 minutes.
The Mids are led offensively by Daniel Kwon who has four points on two goals. Mac Burke has made all nine starts in goal this season and has compiled a 0.95 goals-against average with a .812 save percentage.
Navy holds a 32-17-7 lead over Lehigh in the all-time series. The Mountain Hawks last defeated the Mids in 2012 on a 2-1 victory in Annapolis, Md. Lehigh is 0-2-1 against Navy since that victory. The last time LU defeated Navy at home was in a 2-0 victory in 2011.
Lehigh is 1-2-1 at home this season, while Navy is 1-4-0 on the road. Lehigh's lone home win was against St. Francis (Pa.) last Tuesday. Navy's lone road win was against St. Joseph's on Sept. 17.
