Men's Soccer to Square Off Against Boston On Saturday Night

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Lehigh men's soccer team will host Boston University at 6 p.m. on Saturday at the Ulrich Sports Complex in a critical Patriot League contest. The Mountain Hawks begin a stretch of four-straight conference games on Saturday to close out the regular season and make a push at one of the top-six spots in the Patriot League standings to qualify for the PL postseason.

Live video and live stats will be available for Saturday's contest. Tickets will be sold at the Ulrich Sports Complex box office or can be purchased online.

Lehigh is coming off a 2-1 win at Fordham on Tuesday night to improve to 5-8-1 on the season and 4-4-1 against nonconference opponents. Doyle Tuvesson netted the game-winner in the 84th minute for his second tally of the season and first game-winning goal. Zarin Tuten put LU on the board in the first half with the game's first goal on a header in the 16th minute to record his second tally of the season.

The Mountain Hawks are scoring 1.07 goals per game on the season with a 1.00 goals-per-game average in conference play. LU is giving up an average of 1.50 goals per game this season with an average of 2.20 goals per game against Patriot League opponents. Mark Forrest leads Lehigh offensively with 13 points in 10 games played. Forrest leads the team with five goals to go with three assists. Will Smith ranks as the team's top net-minder with a goals-against-average of 1.14 and a .778 save percentage. Smith is 3-2-1 with one shutout in six starts this season.

Boston is also coming off a nonconference win from Tuesday night with a 1-0 overtime victory over Dartmouth. Felix De Bona netted the game-winner in the 92nd minute for his seventh tally of the season and third game-winning goal of the season.

The Terriers are scoring 1.50 goals per game this season with a 1.00 goals-per-game average against Patriot League opponents. BU is surrendering an average of 1.42 goals per game with an average of 1.40 goals per game in conference play. De Bona leads the team with 14 points on a team-high seven goals. Matt Gilbert anchors the BU defense in net with a 1.41 goals-against average and a save percentage of .782. Gilbert has a record of 4-5-2 with two shutouts in 12 starts this season.

Lehigh is 2-3-1 at home this season with a record of 1-1 at home against Patriot League opponents. Boston is 0-3-2 on the road this season and 0-0-1 on the road in conference play.

The Mountain Hawks are 1-3 all-time against the Terriers since the series began in 2001. Boston won the first three meetings of the series before Lehigh captured a 3-2 victory in overtime last season.

The men's soccer program will be honoring its alumni with festivities throughout the day on Saturday. A special recognition will take place at halftime of the game for the alumni in attendance and also recognize the 10th anniversary of the outstanding achievements of the 2006 Lehigh men's soccer team.

Men's Soccer on Oct 22 vs Boston will be dedicated to Soccer Without Borders as the Lehigh team will also be wearing SWB shirts during the pregame!
