Garzillo named to Baton Rouge Regional All-Tournament Team

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Lehigh baseball junior Mike Garzillo has been named to the Baton Rouge Regional All-Tournament Team, as announced Monday evening. Garzillo knocked a pair of doubles and scored two runs in Lehigh's NCAA Regional games against top-ranked LSU and Tulane over the weekend.
Garzillo ripped a leadoff double in the fourth inning of a scoreless game versus LSU before coming around to score Lehigh's first run and give the Mountain Hawks a 1-0 lead over the top-ranked team in the country. The Tigers went on to win the Baton Rouge Regional following a pair of 2-0 shutouts of UNCW, making Lehigh the only team to score on LSU during the regional. Garzillo also recorded a double in the first inning of Lehigh's contest against Tulane before coming around to score and help the Mountain Hawks take an early 3-0 lead on the Green Wave.
Garzillo wrapped up his junior campaign hitting a team-best .359 with league-leading marks in RBI (54), home runs (13) and slugging percentage (.651). The Regional All-Tournament team recognition adds to Garzillo's long list of postseason honors that include being named the Patriot League Tournament MVP, a unanimous first team All-League selection and Academic All-League member.
