BETHLEHEM, Pa. -- The sixth-seeded Lehigh women's basketball team continues its quest for a Patriot League Championship Monday night when the Mountain Hawks head to No. 2 Army for a 7 p.m. semifinal matchup. Free video will be available on the Patriot League Network with audio coverage live on ESPN Radio of the Lehigh Valley 1230 and 1320 AM. The winner advances to the Patriot League Championship game against the victor of No. 1 American/No. 5 Navy.

The Mountain Hawks earned a spot in the semifinals thanks to a 75-62 road victory at No. 3 Holy Cross Friday night in the quarterfinal round. Lehigh used an explosive first half to control a 40-16 lead at halftime and then held off a late Holy Cross rally to capture the quarterfinal victory and secure a spot in its first semifinal game since the 2011-12 season.

Five Mountain Hawks scored in double-figures to lead Lehigh to victory. Junior Kerry Kinek led the balanced scoring with a team-best 17 points and squad-high eight rebounds. Senior Sarah Williams followed with 13 points, while freshman Quinci Mann (12), sophomore Lexi Martins (11) and senior Katie O'Reilly (10) rounded out the double-digit scorers. O'Reilly also dished a team-best four assists and snatched three steals.

Lehigh's 72 points was the Mountain Hawks' highest offensive output since Feb. 7 when Lehigh put up 75 against Loyola. The Mountain Hawks finished the game shooting 49.1 percent (27-for-55) from the field, 36.4 percent (4-for-11) from downtown and 60.7 percent (17-for-28) from the free throw line. Lehigh held Holy Cross to 35.4 percent (23-for-65) from the floor, 17.6 percent (3-for-17) from three-point range and 81.3 percent (13-for-16) from the charity stripe. The Crusaders controlled a 42-36 rebound advantage.

The defending champion Black Knights earned the No. 2 seed in the tournament after finishing the regular season with a 14-4 Patriot League record and 22-6 overall mark. Army captured a 48-45 overtime victory over Colgate Friday night in the quarterfinals to earn a spot in Monday's semifinals.

Army trailed by six points with 4:50 remaining in the second half before junior Aimee Oertner hit a lay-in with two seconds left to cap a 6-0 run and send the game into overtime. Colgate senior Missy Repoli made a three-pointer ten seconds into the extra period, but Army rallied back to force a 45-45 tie with 1:07 left. Oertner converted a lay-up with 38 ticks to play in overtime and classmate Kelsey Minato hit one of two free throws to give the Black Knights a 48-45 lead with 14 seconds to go. The Raiders missed a pair of three-pointers in the final seconds, as Army held on for the victory.

Three Black Knights scored in double figures, including Minato, who netted 14 points to go along with five assists and four steals. Oertner finished with 12 points and four blocks, while senior Olivia Schretzman added 11 points and seven rebounds.

Minato, a first team All-Patriot League selection, leads the team with an average of 22 points per game. Schretzman, a third team All-League member, follows with 9.7 points and 6.5 rebounds per game.

Lehigh and Army split the regular season series with the home team winning on both occasions. The Mountain Hawks earned a 63-51 victory in the season's first meeting on Jan. 7 inside Stabler Arena, but the Black Knights captured a close 66-62 victory on Feb. 4 in West Point.

Lehigh erased an early 13-point deficit in the most recent meeting, but couldn't complete the effort as the Black Knights picked up the 66-62 victory. Army used a 16-for-19 (84.2 percent) showing from the free throw line and 14-9 edge on the offensive glass to snap the Mountain Hawks' three-game win streak.

Kinek led the way for Lehigh with 15 points and six rebounds, while Martins and Mann each chipped in ten points. Williams contributed nine points, while junior Amina Affini posted eight in a balanced team attack. O'Reilly led the squad with three assists. Minato registered a game-high 23 points for the Black Knights, while Schretzman recorded 19 points and 11 rebounds.

The Patriot League Championship game will take place Friday March 14 at 6 p.m. at the site of the highest remaining seed. The game will be broadcast on CBS Sports Network.
