NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Lehigh men's track and field team turned out four first-place finishes and a pair of IC4A-qualifying marks Friday and Saturday at Yale's Giegengack Invitational in the team's penultimate meet before Patriot League Championships.
"This meet was all about working on seed times and having others vie for positions on the team that will go to the Patriot League Championships," said coach Debbie Utesch. "We saw some really good stuff in come out of those two things we were looking for. There was growth in speed and endurance and people are starting to position themselves well for the league championship meet."
Senior Adeolu Adesida claimed another high jump title with an IC4A-qualifying leap of 2.12 meters. Senior Benjamin Beauchamp picked up a Lehigh victory in the weight throw with a heave of 16.95 meters. Sophomore Lucas Warning claimed the top spot in the shot put with a heave of 15.54 meters.
Freshman Fritz Isaac earned first place in the triple jump with a leap of 13.98 meters, while sophomore Daniel Reichenbach finished right behind in third place with a jump of 13.72 meters. Sophomore Christopher Del Rossi continued to impress in the 400 meter dash, finishing third with a clip of 49.65.
