Leopard Invitational Results
In their final warmups before the Patriot League Championships in two weeks, the Lehigh men's and women's cross country teams competed at the Princeton Invitational and Leopard Invitationals on Saturday. The men's team finished eighth out of 21 teams at the annual Princeton Invitational, while the women finished 16th out of 24. The men finished second out of the three Patriot League teams at the meet, one spot and 19 points behind Bucknell, and 12 places ahead of Loyola (Md.). On average, the 10 Lehigh male runners finished the 8K course in 25:04, while the women finished thier 6K course in an average time of 23:19.
MEN
Sophomore Patrick Reilly was Lehigh's top finisher for the third time this season, finishing 15th overall and was the highest placing Patriot League runner. His time of 24:31.1 was also a new personal best. He was followed by senior Evan Ward in 47th place, who also set a new personal best time of 25:03.7 for the second meet in a row. Fellow senior Evan Hardy placed third on the team, 56th overall, by finishing the race in 25:10.7.
Ryan Cooney and Kyle Kirk finished back-to-back in 67th and 68th place, respectively, while Joseph Inglis (25:27.8) finished 84th and Nicholas Hirdt(25:29.9) crossed the line in 85th place overall to round out the Mountain Hawks top seven.
Closer to home, Lehigh also sent eight runners to compete at the Leopard Cross Country Invitational, hosted by Lafayette College. Freshman Mitchell Daddario (26th/26:40.5), junior Kyle Leonard (41st/27:10.8) and sophomore Ryan Grace (47th/27:25.3) paced Lehigh in the event. Freshmen Samuel Layding and Brian Arita followed by coming in 56th and 57th, respectively. Sophomores Christopher Mascetti and Henry Paul rounded out Lehigh's top seven with Mascetti placing 59th and Paul coming in 64th.

WOMEN
Sophomore Laura Barnes led the pack for the Mountain Hawks, crossing the finish line in 68th place overall with a time of 22:51.2. Senior Arielle Weiner(88th/23:12.4) and junior Marissa Karl (98th/23:17.8) both placed in the top 50 percent of the race, which had 206 finishers.
Junior Amanda Ruschel finished the race in 111th place overall in 23:33.3, nine spots and 10 seconds ahead of her teammate, freshman Stacie Nadel(23:43.3). Freshman Ashleigh Thurston also competed, finishing the race in 24:08.7, while sophomore Sarah Spring rounded out the squad's top seven with a 167th place time of 24:53.3.
Elsewhere on Saturday morning, Lehigh also sent three runners to compete in the Leopard Cross Country Invitational at Lafayette College. SophomoreSamantha Lerner led the way for Lehigh with a 34th place finish of 25:29.8. Junior Anne Birkenmaier and sophomore Jennifer Burke finished together with Birkenmaier placing 42nd and Burke coming in 43rd. Lehigh did not receive a team score for the event, in which Columbia University was awarded the top Division I spot out of five DI teams.

Up next, in two weeks Lehigh will join its fellow league schools at the Patriot League Championships on the campus of Colgate University in Hamilton, N.Y. The men's race on October 31 is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m., with the women's race to follow at noon.
