
Lehigh places 18 on Patriot League Academic Honor Roll

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The Lehigh's men's lacrosse program placed 18 student-athletes on the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll, tying for the second most honorees in the league, as announced on Monday. Freshman Cody Triolo led the Mountain Hawks with a 3.92 spring semester grade point average in the College of Engineering.
To be eligible for the Spring Academic Honor Roll, a student-athlete must earn a 3.20 grade point average in the spring semester and participate in one of the Patriot League's winter or spring championship sports.
Following close behind Triolo was junior Alan Henderson with a 3.73 GPA in Finance and sophomore Billy Oppenheimer with a 3.70 in Economics and English.
Others on the honor roll were junior Kurtis Kaunas with a 3.60 in Finance, senior Ty Souders with a 3.58 in Finance, sophomore Chris Appell with a 3.56 in Business, sophomore Casey Eidenshink with a 3.53 in Business, senior Andrew Mower with a 3.50 in Supply Chain Management, junior Klay Heston with a 3.49 in Finance, senior Ryan Buttenbaum with a 3.46 In Biology and sophomore Alex Eaton with a 3.38 in Business.
Senior English major Harrison Lawrence and sophomore Business major Ray Mastroianni both accumulated a 3.32 semester GPA. Rounding out the honor roll were senior Bryson Craft with a 3.33 in Management, senior Matt Smith with a 3.30 in Mechanical Engineering, junior Sam Lawrence with a 3.27 in Finance, freshman Ian Strain with a 3.25 in Computer Science/Business and freshman Matt Raposo with a 3.20 in Business.
The Mountain Hawks have enjoyed tremendous success in the classroom, led by Souders who was named to the Academic All-Patriot League Team for a third straight season. He was also named a Senior CLASS Award First Team All-American which incorporates a significant academic component.
In total, 129 student-athletes across the league received Academic Honor Roll recognition.
On the field, Lehigh advanced to its third straight Patriot League Championship Game in 2014, finishing the season 13-5 and within one win of tying the school record for victories. A trio of Mountain Hawks, who all return next season, were named All-Americans: Matt Poillon, Dan Taylor and Tripp Telesco.
