Knouse selected to CoSIDA Academic All-District Team

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Lehigh men's track and field and cross country senior Ryan Knouse has been named to the 2013-14 Capital One Academic All-District II Team for his outstanding athletic and academic achievements, as announced by CoSIDA Thursday.
The 2014 Academic All-District Men's and Women's Track and Field Teams recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances athletically and in the classroom. The teams are divided into eight geographic districts across the United States and Canada. District II includes schools from Delaware, Kentucky, Maryland, New Jersey, West Virginia and the District of Columbia in addition to Pennsylvania.
Knouse's 3.94 cumulative GPA in his Finance major is the third best among all All-District II team selections. He was selected to the Academic All-Patriot League team for the first time in his career following the outdoor season and has made Dean's List (>3.6 GPA) every semester of his Lehigh career, while also landing on the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll every year.
Knouse competed in both the 10,000 and 5,000 meter runs at the outdoor and finished fifth and tenth, respectively. He also competed in the 3,000 and 5,000 events at the indoor league championship meet and finished within the top half of competitors at the Patriot League Cross Country Championship.
A native of Perkasie, Pa., Knouse will be in the running for Academic All-America honors, which will be awarded in June after another vote from CoSIDA members.
