BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Lehigh third baseman Morgan Decker added to her already impressive freshman campaign for the Mountain Hawks softball program Wednesday, as she was named ECAC Co-Rookie of the Year and a first team ECAC All-Star. These latest accolades come on the heels of being named Patriot League Player and Rookie of the Year, as well as first team NFCA Mid-Atlantic All-Region in May.
In the classroom, Decker has a 3.69 grade point average in the college of Arts and Sciences. She was named to the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll last month.
Decker's selection marks the third straight year that Lehigh had at least one softball student-athlete recognized as an ECAC All-Star. In 2012 Jen Colquhoun and Audra Wood were named ECAC All-Stars, with Colquhoun also named ECAC Player of the Year. Liz Lucas was the ECAC All-Star catcher following the 2011 season.
The other Rookie of the Year was Nicole Cheek of Marist. Temple's Stephanie Pasquale won the Player of the Year award and Olivia Galati of Hofstra took home Pitcher of the Year honors.
Lehigh finished the 2013 season with a 37-16-1 record. The Mountain Hawks posted their 13th straight season with at least 30 wins. The program also clinched its 18th Patriot League regular season championship and second in as many years.
