BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Lehigh sophomore Kelly Fricker has been selected to the NFCA All-East Region second team, it was announced Thursday. This is the second consecutive second team all-region honor for Fricker, who enjoyed one of the finest overall offensive seasons in Lehigh softball history in 2026.
Â
A first team All-Patriot League honoree for the second straight season, Fricker led the Mountain Hawks and ranks in the top 50 nationally with a .434 batting average. She recorded 82 hits, establishing a new Lehigh single season record, surpassing the 79 hits Fricker had last year, a mark shared with Carley Barjaktarovich '23.
Â
Fricker scored 52 runs and had 50 RBIs to rank second in program history in both categories. Thirty-one of her 82 hits went for extra bases with Fricker leading the Mountain Hawks with 19 doubles, four triples and eight home runs. Fricker ranks 12th nationally in total hits and 16th in doubles.
Â
The Patriot League's Rookie of the Year in 2025, Fricker's .436 career batting average is the highest for a Lehigh player through her first two seasons. Fricker moved to second base in 2026 after playing right field primarily as a first-year. Her 2026 campaign was highlighted by nine three-hit games and five three-RBI efforts. Fricker broke the single season hit record with a home run against Lafayette on May 2 and then went 2-for-3 with a pair of runs scored in Lehigh's season-ending 8-1 win over the Leopards the following day.
Â
With Fricker's selection, Lehigh has had a NFCA All-Region honoree in six consecutive seasons. The All-Region and All-America teams are selected by members of the National Fastpitch Coaches Association.
