Six from women's golf named to Patriot League honor roll

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Lehigh women's golf team placed six student-athletes on the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll which was announced Friday. The Mountain Hawks won the inaugural Patriot League Women's Golf Championship by holding off Bucknell on the final day by three strokes.
Leading the way was senior and Patriot League Scholar-Athlete of the Year Ginette Schapira with a 3.83 grade point average in Finance. She was also named to the All-Patriot League team for her third place individual finish at the league championship.Not far behind was classmate Chelsea Michalek, who posted a 3.82 GPA in marketing. Michalek earned individual medalist honors at the Patriot League Championship and was the inaugural Outstanding Women's Golfer of the Year, as well as an Academic All-Patriot League performer. Sophomore Kelly Moylan, who was the third Lehigh Academic All-League honoree, earned a 3.75 GPA in materials science and engineering.
Five of the six student-athletes recorded GPAs over 3.6, qualifying them for Lehigh's Dean's List
Twenty-one student-athletes were named to the inaugural Patriot League Women's Golf Academic Honor Roll, with Schapira getting the nod as the Scholar Athlete of the Year as voted on last month.
To be eligible for the Academic Honor Roll, a student-athlete must earn a 3.20 grade-point average in the spring semester and participate in one of the Patriot League's winter or spring championship sports.
