WORCESTER, Mass. - The Lehigh women's rowing team wrapped up its season at the Patriot League Championships Friday morning, finishing in sixth place with eight points on the day. The Mountain Hawks came in fifth in the Second Varsity Eight and placed sixth in the Varsity Four and Varsity Eight.

“I think we raced to the best of our ability in all our boats,” said Lehigh head coach Brian Conley. “The league is getting a lot faster, but we need to step up more on our end to increase our speed.”

The Varsity Four posted a time of 8:10.02 while the Second Varsity Eight (which consisted of Lehigh's freshmen crew) came in at 7:04.21 and the Varsity Eight posted a time of 6:54.93.

The season featured several highlights as the crews medaled on a consistent basis and showed tremendous improvement for the present and future.

“We were closer to the field of competition which was a huge plus,” said Conley. “We have a great group of freshmen moving up in the ranks. I'm confident we'll be able to step up next year.”
