Mountain Hawks open up action at Hoya Invitational

BEALSVILLE, Md. – The Lehigh women's golf team sits in tenth place in a 14-team field after day one of the Hoya Invitational, Monday at The Members Club at Four Streams. The Mountain Hawks finished the first 36 holes of the 54 hole event with a score of 670, following up an opening-round 328 with a second round score of 342.
Senior Chelsea Michalek leads Lehigh individually as she shot 159 (81-78) to sit in a tie for 23rd place after the first day of play. Sophomore Alyssa Scheyd led the Mountain Hawks in round one with a 78, but shot an 88 in round two to finish at 166, which puts Scheyd in a tie for 43rd. Reigning Patriot League Player of the Month Crystal Lee sits in a tie for 46th place at 83-84-167.
Lehigh's other two entrants are freshman Nicole Feierberg, who shot 86-92-178 and is tied for 67th place, and sophomore Kelly Moylan who sits in 73rd after rounds of 90-92 (182).
Campbell's Lisbeth Brooks and Harin Lee of St. John's are tied for the individual lead at two over par 146. Penn's Amanda Chin is in third place, one shot behind the leaders.
The Fightin' Camels of Campbell have the team lead after 36 holes with rounds of 299 and 305 for 604, seven shots better than Yale. Penn and Seton Hall are tied for third.
The Hoya Invitational concludes Tuesday with the final 18 holes beginning at 9 a.m.
