BALTIMORE, Md. – The Lehigh baseball team extended its winning streak to four consecutive games Sunday after taking both games of a doubleheader against the Coppin State Eagles. The Mountain Hawks won game one 9-4 and broke open game two with four runs in the final inning to emerge with a 7-1 victory. The wins bring the Mountain Hawks to 8-4 on the season while Coppin State falls to 3-11.
Lehigh stole four bases in each game of the doubleheader and five players had multi-hit games in the first contest.
“We just manufactured runs over the course of the day,” Lehigh head coach Sean Leary said. “There were a number of runs that started with a walk or stolen base and it was a very consistent day for us.”

All of Lehigh's runs came in the fifth, sixth and seventh innings in game two of the twinbill. Brong had two RBI in the game while sophomore John Elson went 2-for-3 at the plate and drew in two of Lehigh's four runs in the seventh and final inning. Junior Jayme Edwards earned the victory on the hill, throwing 6.1 innings, allowing a single run and striking out five. Junior Joey McNamara got the final two outs to seal the series sweep for the Brown and White.
Lehigh will face UNC Greensboro and North Carolina A&T on Tuesday and Wednesday, respectively at UNCG Baseball Stadium. The Mountain Hawks road trip concludes with a three-game set against Mount St. Mary's next weekend.
