Lehigh women’s cross country places 11 on Patriot League Academic Honor Roll

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Lehigh women's cross country team placed 11 student-athletes on the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll, announced Wednesday. Highlighted by the Mountain Hawks' senior co-captains Samantha Andersen and Victoria Berard, Lehigh was ranked third among Patriot League opponents with its 11 members.
Lehigh featured two athletes with 4.00 grade-point averages in freshmen Jennifer Markham and Carlie Skellington. Markham earned her impressive academic accolade in Lehigh's P.C. Rossin College of Engineering and Applied Science. Skellington, an IDEAS major, was also one of 16 student-athletes league-wide to earn a 4.00 in the fall semester.
Just behind Markham and Skellington was graduate student Amanda Gosselin with a 3.94 GPA as an accounting major.
Andersen earned a 3.66 grade-point average as an Art History major, while fellow senior co-captain Berard posted a 3.36 GPA as a Chemical Engineering major. Also on the Academic Honor Roll was senior Julia Perry who was Lehigh's top performer on the season. Perry posted a 3.46 GPA as the Environmental Engineering major was the Mountain Hawks' best finisher in four races in what was her first season on the cross country team.
Four Lehigh student-athletes also earned Dean's List distinction after posting GPA's higher than a 3.6 in the fall semester.
To be eligible for the honor roll, student-athletes must maintain a 3.2 GPA and be listed on the team roster.
In total, 75 Patriot League men's cross country student-athletes were named to the sport's Academic Honor Roll for the fall semester.
