ANNAPOLIS, Md. – The Lehigh baseball team dropped a pair of games Sunday at Navy, 5-1 and 2-1 in the Mountain Hawks' final two regular season games. Sophomore Mike Burke had a stellar outing in game two as he threw a career-high 6.1 innings and allowed just two runs on five hits. The Mountain Hawks finish their season 18-31-1 and 6-14 in Patriot League play.

Lehigh took the early lead in its first at-bat in game one, scoring a run on three hits. Senior Brendan McGaheran led off the game with a single and senior Ryan Gajdos followed that up with a single. After a fly out, sophomore Tyler Brong drove in McGaheran with a RBI single through the left side. Lehigh looked to add on more with two on and one out, but were unable to take advantage.

Navy evened the game in the bottom of the second. After a leadoff double, the Mids successfully moved the runner to third and a groundout to shortstop drove in the run.

While Lehigh couldn't get anything going offensively, Navy scored four runs in the bottom of the fifth, all with two outs. After a strike out and groundout, the Mids put together five straight hits – four singles and a double.

The Mountain Hawks managed a couple hits in the top of the sixth but were unable to cut into the deficit as Lehigh dropped the first game 5-1.

Lehigh had six hits in the game, two from McGaheran and Brong. Sophomore Nick Cassell (1-6) started for Lehigh and allowed five runs on seven hits while striking out five in 4.2 IP.

Ben Nelson (3-3) earned the win for Navy, throwing a complete game and striking out seven. The Mids had eight hits, two from Alex Azor and Nikolai Simonsen. Kash Manzelli had a pair of RBIs.

In game two, Lehigh trailed 1-0 after the second inning as Navy scored on a one-RBI single.

The Mountain Hawks evened the game in the top of the fourth as senior Chad Warga came up with a clutch two-out RBI double to score junior Casey Turner who reached base with a one-out walk.

In the fifth, sixth and seventh inning, Lehigh managed to get a runner to second with less than two outs but couldn't take advantage of the runner in scoring position.

In the bottom of the seventh, Navy broke the tie on a one-out RBI single. The Mountain Hawks were unable to rally in the eighth and ninth as Lehigh dropped game two 2-1.

Lehigh had three hits in the game, two coming from Warga. Burke was stellar starting the game while Colin Gotzon and Brandon Sady pitched the game's final 1.2 and didn't allow a run.

Brad Borosak (1-1) earned the win in relief, throwing three no-hit innings to end the game. Navy had seven hits in the game from seven different Mids while Chris Cannon had the game-winning RBI single.

Brong – who was 2-for-3 in game one – finished the 2012 season with a .319 batting average, tops on the team and was one of five Mountain Hawks hitting at least .300.

Lehigh needed to win both games to earn a Patriot League Tournament berth.
