Lao-Gosneys to participate in U.S. Scrimmage on Sunday

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Recent Lehigh men's lacrosse standouts Cameron and Roman Lao-Gosney have been selected for a Team USA scrimmage as part of the Capital Lacrosse Classic on Sunday (Oct. 7). The Lao-Gosneys will showcase their talents alongside lacrosse's biggest names. The event, which will take place at Landon School (Bethesda, Md.), will also feature Cornell, North Carolina, Johns Hopkins and Penn State facing off against each other. The college scrimmages begin in the morning leading into the United States' game at 3 p.m.

“My brother and I were lucky enough to be invited,” said Cameron. “It's going to be a lot of fun. There will be some pretty big names there, so we'll definitely see some skill. I feel blessed to be chosen and I'll give it my all.”

“The 2014 games are coming around so they want to see some young talent, some new guys,” said Roman. “It's a very cool opportunity.”

Lehigh head coach (and United States' assistant) Kevin Cassese will be at the event, coaching and evaluating with his fellow coaching staff. The game will feature six international quarters of 20-minute running time. Teams will stay the same for the first three quarters then shuffled for the final three.

In total, there were 54 of the nation's best lacrosse players chosen for the scrimmage, including 21 midfielders. Some of the names the Lao-Gosneys will play alongside include Matt Danowski, Kevin Leveille, Steele Stanwick, Max Seibald, Brian Karalunas and Drew Adams (among many others).
