BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Boston Cannons of Major League Lacrosse featuring Lehigh head coach Kevin Cassese won their fourth straight game on the 4th of July with a 17-16 victory over the first-place Denver Outlaws before a crowd of 21,952 fans at INVESCO Field at Mile High.  The win improved the Cannons to 5-3 for the season and allowed Boston to exact revenge for a 15-14 loss to the Outlaws earlier this season.  Cassese scored a two-point goal in the win, which came following a Denver score that had cut Boston’s lead to a single goal.  Cassese’s score gave the Cannons a 9-6 lead early in the third and they held on from there to record the victory.

Cassese has appeared in seven games for Boston this season, registering six goals and eight points.  He has added 15 ground balls and 12 shots.  The game versus Denver was extra special for Cassese as his father Tom was a member of the Denver Broncos during his professional football playing days.  The contest between Boston and Denver is scheduled to be re—played on ESPN2 on Tuesday, July 7 beginning at 1:00 PM.

The Cannons return to action on July 9 when they head to New York to face the Long Island Lizards for a 7:00 showdown.  The Lizards have handed Boston two of their three losses this season.
