Lehigh opens outdoor season at Kutztown

For the Lehigh women, Lindsay Corbetta finished second in the 200-meters with a time of 44.5 seconds and she added a third place finish in the 100-meters, crossing the finish line in a time of 12.86. Senior Karen Welby raced her way to a second place finish in the 800-meters, with teammates Kim Scotto, Sarah Serwo and Sarah Seiler finishing in fourth, fifth and sixth place, respectively. Seiler then went onto finish second in the 1500-meter run, with a time of 4:54.48, while Jen Therkorn (fourth), Carolyn House (fifth) and Elizabeth Robinson (sixth) were right behind her.
Alison Sanchez raced her way to a second place finish in the 5000-meters, finishing in a time of 19:20, and Nicole Montegary took third in the 400-meter hurdles, crossing in a time of 1:06.67. Claire Sharman cleared 10’0” in the pole vault, good for second place and Theresa Fromm threw the shot put 25’4”, placing her in seventh place.
On the men’s side of things, David Falk took second in the 100-meter dash, finishing in a time of 11.19 seconds, and he backed that up with a fifth place finish in the 200-meters. Amer placed third in the 200, crossing in a time of 22:59.6, and Garrett Zambrows and Kyle Manning took second and third respectively in the 800-meters.
Daniel DeWitt won the 5,000-meters, with a time of 15:30, with teammates Martin Michael and Sam Kirk right behind him, in second and third place. Greg Horn raced his way to a second place finish in the 400-meter hurdles, in a time of 55.41, while Joe Kelly and Jonathan Wetzel took second and third place in the 3,000-meter steeplechase. Senior Vaclav Malek won the high jump, clearing 6’5” and classmate Cody Smart was right behind in second place, clearing 6’3”. With a leap of 42’11”, Ed Schuck took second in the triple jump, and Mark Mattei finished fourth in the shot put, with a toss of 42’9”. Matt Kostyal won the hammer throw, at 127’10”, and Mattei took second, recording a toss of 126’9”. Senior Craig Percopo then won the javelin, with a 180”7” showing.
