Lehigh places seven on All-League teams

Leading the way for the Mountain Hawks is senior Grant Flothmeier, who won Lehigh’s only Patriot League title in 2006 in the 100 yard breaststroke. A three-time All-League selection, Flothmeier also placed third in the 200 yard breaststroke and fourth in the 200 IM. Joining Flothmeier on the first team is junior Tom Gilbert, runner-up in the 200 backstroke. Gilbert earned 46 points during the championships, with a third place finish in the 100 back and a sixth place showing in the 100 fly.
Senior Sean Herman and sophomore Jon Kearney earned second team recognition. Herman scored 32 points for the Brown and White, with a pair of top-eight finishes in the 100 and 200 yard freestyle events.
On the women’s side, Lehigh had three swimmers named to the All-League second team with senior Linda Hendrixson and juniors Betsy Balaguer and Julie Mitchell garnering honors. Hendrixson becomes an All-League selection for the fourth straight season, after finishing fourth in the 400 IM and sixth in the 200 IM, good for 34 points.
Balaguer was Lehigh’s top scorer at the championships with 40 points. The Bel Air,
Mitchell earned All-League honors for the third straight seasons, after taking fourth place in the 100 back and fifth in the 200 back. She scored 38 points for the Mountain Hawks at the Championships.
The Lehigh men placed fourth at the Championships, while the Mountain Hawk women placed seventh. Men’s champion Navy had seven first team selections, while women’s champion Bucknell placed six on the first team.
