Lehigh maintains hold on fifth after second day at Patriots

Annapolis, MD – The Mountain Hawks ended the day right where they started, swimming to fifth place during the second day of the Patriot League Swimming and Diving Championships at Navy. There were no event winners for the Mountain Hawks, but Linda Hendrixson and Ross Green continued to swim and place the highest of all the Lehigh swimmers.
Hendrixson followed up her second place finish in the 200 IM on Thursday with another second, this time in the 400 IM, with a time of 4:28.72. For Green, one of the favorites in the 100 fly, he swam to a second place finish as well, finishing in 49.73, just barely missing out on the title. Green’s time was just .10 seconds behind winner Terren Fenningham (49.63) of Navy.
Elsewhere for the teams, the Lehigh men had a very strong showing in the 100 breast, taking three of the top five spots. Grant Flothmeier took second with a time of 57.74, Steve Greidanus placed third in 58.02, and Jason O’Koren finished fifth in 58.36. The event showed the highest single event point totals for any Mountain Hawks entries on the day.
Bucknell has the lead for the women after the second day of competition with 540 points, while Lehigh is in fifth at 285. On the men’s side, Navy is in command with 540 points as well, and Lehigh is still fifth with 290. The last day of events is Saturday, with swimming beginning at
