Mountain Hawks set to open home season

Bethlehem, PA – The Mountain Hawks are off to a great start to the season as they prepare to open their home schedule at Kaufman Field. First up on the menu will be Drexel, who comes to town on Wednesday afternoon for a doubleheader.

Lehigh has broken out of the gates fast to a 6-1 record, and are coming off a third place finish at last weekend’s Dixie Classic at Virginia Beach, VA. The Mountain Hawks have made a habit of pulling out late game victories so far, as half of their victories have come in their last at bat.

Sophomore pitcher Kate Arico has been dominant, going 3-0 with a 0.68 ERA so far. Kelly Kliewer has led the offense, batting .381 with 7 RBIs to lead the team.

Drexel has played only four games so far this season, going 1-3 at the Georgia State tournament in Atlanta. Elizabeth Fuller leads the way for the Dragons, throwing a complete game shutout in their lone win on the season.

The first game of the doubleheader begins at 2:30.
