BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Following a pair of victories over the Washington Bayhawks during the past two weeks, Mountain Hawks head coach Kevin Cassese and the Philadelphia Barrage have won their second straight Eastern Conference Title, as they head into the Major League Lacrosse Playoffs seeded number-one.  On August 4, the Barrage downed Washington by a score of 21-11 and they followed that up with a dominating 22-7 victory over the Bayhawks on August 11 in Downingtown, Pa.  Over the course of the two games, Cassese totaled seven shots, two assists, and two ground balls and he was three-of-six on face-offs.

On August 4 Cassese helped the Barrage jump out to an 11-5 halftime lead, assisting on one score in the second quarter.  He then added a second assist in the fourth quarter to seal the victory.  One week later, the former Duke standout helped Philadelphia again jump out to an early cushion, as they led 9-2 after one quarter and never looked back.  On the season, Cassese has played in five games for the Barrage, scoring four goals and handing out three assists along the way.  The Mountain Hawks new leader has also scooped up five ground balls and taken 15 shots.

The Barrage will return to action on August 25, when they take on the Denver Outlaws in the first round of the 2007 MLL Championship Weekend in Rochester, New York.
