PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Newly appointed head coach Kevin Cassese continued his season with the Philadelphia Barrage of Major League Lacrosse on Thursday evening as he helped lead the Barrage to a 12-7 victory over the New Jersey Pride in front of 2,536 fans at Yurcak Field.  Cassese scored one two-point goal on the evening to help Philadelphia win its third straight game and improve its record to 6-2.

The Barrage scored twice in the opening quarter and then put four more points on the scoreboard in the second to take a 6-2 lead heading into halftime.  Cassese netted his two-pointer with 1:11 remaining on the clock in the second to send the visitors to the locker rooms with a comfortable lead.  After managing just one score in the third, the Barrage pumped in five scores in the final 15 minutes of play to pull away for the 12-7 victory.

Cassese and his Barrage teammates will return to action on Saturday, July 21 when they face the Denver Outlaws in a rematch of the 2006 MLL Championship Game.  Game time is set for 9:30 PM Eastern.
