Hooff and Marino garner All-League accolades

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Seniors Alec Hooff and Steve Marino were named to the All-Patriot League Second Team on Wednesday, it was announced.  For Hooff, this is his third consecutive selection to the All-League teams, after garnering Second-Team recognition as a sophomore and First-Team laurels as a junior, while for Marino, this is the first time he has earned a spot on the All-League Teams.  The league’s seven head coaches vote on the teams and major award winners.

 

Hooff appeared in 11 games this season and scored 13 goals, to go along with 14 assists.  The Virginia native scooped up 23 ground balls and had his best game of the season versus St. Joe’s when he scored two goals and handed out four assists for a six-point performance.  Hooff also scored twice versus Stony Brook, Lafayette, and Colgate, and handed out multiple assists versus Penn and Holy Cross.  He finishes his career having appeared in over 50 games, with 51 goals and 87 points.

 

Marino led Lehigh in points for the third time in his career with 33.  The Malvern, Pennsylvania native scored 15 goals and handed out a team-best 18 assists.  He also scooped up 22 ground balls and scored two or more goals versus Drexel, Penn, Navy and Stony Brook.  Marino handed out multiple assists in games versus Drexel, Holy Cross, Stony Brook, Lafayette, Colgate, St. Joe’s and Bucknell.  Marino finishes his Lehigh career with 52 goals and 106 points, having appeared in 44 games during that time.

 

Lehigh has now placed at least two student-athletes on the All-League teams for 14 consecutive seasons, dating back to 1994.
