BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Lehigh will play its final home game Wednesday when the Mountain Hawks take on the Hawks of Saint Joseph’s. A win would place the Mountain Hawks at the .500 mark at home for the season.

Lehigh was last in action on Saturday, April 7.  Despite David Gaunt’s hat trick, the Mountain Hawks fell to league foe Colgate 10-8. Lehigh was down two goals going into the fourth quarter and scored twice to tie the game at eight, but Colgate was too strong down the stretch scoring two unanswered goals to seal the victory.

In nine games this season seniors Jeff Wiener and Stephen Marino are leading the team in points (Marino with 25 and Wiener with 21) and goals (Marino with 12 and Wiener with 15). Defensively junior goal keeper Eric Spirko leads the team with 28 ground balls.

Saint Joseph’s was also in action last Saturday.  The Hawks crushed league foe VMI 17-10 at home. Junior Steve Varga, who leads the team in scoring with 13 goals, had five to lead the Hawks. Senior attacker Mike O'Neill had three goals and four assists, while graduate student Alex McColough added two goals and an assist.

This will be a rematch of last years 11-5 Lehigh victory. Jeff Wiener had three goals and also dished out two assists, while three other Mountain Hawks, Marino, Blake Best and Gaunt, had two goals each in the victory.
